After waiting a bit longer, and tying the score in triangle football, Maybe Phil brings in Scott Easterling. He's a pudgy little guy with grubby hands, who looks confused until he gets the same explanation Maybe Phil gave Walraven.
Scott nods eagerly, "Of course. Molly was so sweet. I want to help any way I can."
The Drew offers thanks and asks, "How well do you know her?"
Scott grimaces and shakes his head. "Not too well, I don't guess. But she was super friendly. Everyone liked her."
The Drew writes "past tense" in his notepad and taps it so you will look. You roll your eyes and ask, "How well does Jason Walraven know her?"
Scott laughs. "About as well as he knows every cute girl in the factory."
The Drew shakes his head. "What do you mean?"
Scott holds up his hands in apology. "Oh, no, no. Not that. Jason's a great guy. He'd never cheat on Annie. He's just a flirt, is all. It's part of how he got into management, to be honest. He flirts and turns on that charm with damn near everybody. Great guy." He nods, thinking. "And yeah, he chatted with Molly a few times that I remember. But nothing more than he did with anyone else."
"Did he ever give her rides home," The Drew asks.
Scott shakes his head. "Not that I know of. But it's possible," he shrugs. "Jason is always good for a ride if you need it. He gave me a ride home last Friday because my truck was in the shop."
You ask, "Was anyone else with you?"
Scott frowns and shakes his head. "No. Just us."
You follow up with, "Did he take you straight home?"
Scott nods. "Yep. Just dropped me off and took off. That was it."
The Drew circles "past tense" one more time on his notepad and says, "Thank you, Mr. Easterling. We may have some follow up questions. Don't leave town."
Scott frowns. "Okay?" And leaves.
