 At first glance, tonight looks pretty clear cut. Psycho is on from 7PM - 9PM (CST) on Turner Classic Movies. Case closed. If you're in the Halloween mood for creepy movies, this is as good as it gets. Hitchcock set the bar high early on as far as allowing the horror genre to tell a very good story in a very compelling way. It holds up nicely, and, if nothing else, it will get you jazzed about Opie from Sons of Anarchy getting cast in the next season of Bates Motel.  Elsewhere, you have few options outside of the Independent Film Channel. And even there, it's not great. At 10PM (CST), they give you Insidious, which, although it does a little shark jumping in its final act, is a B+ modern ghost story. Leading into that, however, is 28 Weeks Later. And it should be great, right? Jeremy Renner, Idris Elba, Michael from Lost, Begbie from Trainspotting, Helen from Bridesmaids. How can this not be good? And it is. I guess. What it lacks is Alex Garland, the novelist-turned-screenwriter who wrote the hold-your-breath script for 28 Days Later, which does not get anywhere near as much credit as it deserves. As for the sequel, well, you have better options.  If none of the above does it for you, you do have a few options with less blood and gore. Unless it saddens you as much as it does me to watch a show limp into a slow, painful death, you can catch a new episode of Ghosthunters on SyFy at 8 (CST). Sure, there's no more Grant cameos, and the production values have stripped it of all of its early-seasons suspense, but it's there. On FXX, though, the true winning pick of the night may be the marathon of Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror episodes. Tonight, they jump around a bit, but it all starts with number one, from season two, at 5PM (CST) and ends at 8:30 with number sixteen (robot Bart).
